Eligibility & Application
Athenaeum membership is available to individuals who hold teaching, research, or administrative jobs at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Huntington Library & Art Gallery, Palomar Observatory, Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), Caltech Employees Federal Credit Union (CEFCU), and Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) Observatory.
Eligibility Requirements Include:
- Caltech Faculty and Researchers
- Caltech Graduate Students, age 21 & older
- Caltech Undergraduate Students, Seniors, age 21 & older
- Benefits-based employees of Caltech· Benefits-based employees of JPL
- Benefits-based employees of the Huntington Library and Huntington Library Readers
- Benefits-based employees of Caltech affiliates
- Palomar, HHMI, CEFCU, TMT, CDC, CCC, Caltech Y
- Retirees of Caltech, JPL, and the Huntington Library
- Caltech Trustees
- Caltech Alumni
- Caltech Associates
For individuals not currently affiliated with any of the aforementioned affiliates, membership eligibility is available by joining the Associates of the California Institute of Technology. Membership Application
Applications can be submitted to The Athenaeum via mail, campus mail, fax or email.
Please be advised that the application approval process can take at least one week for verification. Once verification has been confirmed, your account will be activated and you will received an email with new membership information.
