A La Carte Dining

The Main Dining Room, the Hall of the Associates, and in mild weather, the East and West Patios offer gracious settings for weekday dining. The Athenaeum boasts a varied and excellent menu as well as an extensive wine cellar. Appropriate dining attire is requested. Hours of service are Monday through Friday:
Breakfast: 7:00 am to 9:00 am
Lunch: 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
Dinner: 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm

À la carte Dinner is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. 
Dinner on Wednesdays is our Prime Rib Buffet Night.

Advanced reservations are always recommended.
Vegetarian options are always available, please inquire with your server.

The Athenaeum welcomes outside cakes to be brought in for special occasions. Cake cutting service is provided with a fee of $1.50 per person.

  • Breakfast
    • As sunlight streams into the dining room through the wood paneled windows, get a fresh and healthful start to your day with breakfast at The Athenaeum. Breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Lunch
    • Lunch at The Athenaeum is always a special affair. Walnut paneled walls and tall fanlight windows provide an elegant, bright room where you and your party can enjoy lunch with the special Caltech ambiance. One can choose from a variety of salads, sandwiches and delectable hot entrees. We also offer an extensive Express Lunch Buffet that changes daily with a seasonal offering of salads, fruit, grains, legumes, soups, hot buffet, and daily carvery.

      Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. with the last seating at 1:30 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended during lunch service.

    • The Athenaeum has long been known for elegant evening dining. The romantic atmosphere and extraordinary menu created by Executive Chef Kevin Isacsson together offer the ultimate dining experience. For ten years, Chef Isacsson has provided menus crafted around the season's finest ingredients prepared in creative and delicious form.
